Services
Every successful project begins with a clear plan. Whether you’re looking to refurbish your home, extend your living space, or undertake a new build, having a structured, transparent process is key to achieving your vision efficiently and effectively.
At the heart of my approach is collaboration — your needs, priorities, and lifestyle guide every stage of the design journey. From the earliest feasibility study through to detailed construction drawings and planning submissions, I’ll work closely with you to ensure each step is clear, informed, and tailored to your project.
This process not only helps manage expectations but also ensures that all technical, regulatory, and aesthetic considerations are fully integrated — resulting in a design that’s beautiful, functional, and buildable.
Below, you’ll find an overview of each stage, highlighting what you can expect and how I support you throughout the journey.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

Where do we begin?
Every project starts with a conversation. The initial consultation is our opportunity to get to know each other, to discuss your ideas, priorities, and ambitions for your home.
During this meeting, we’ll explore your vision, lifestyle, and budget, and identify any potential constraints or opportunities that may influence the design. This is a chance for me to listen, ask questions, and provide guidance — helping us collectively define a clear way forward for your project.
The consultation sets the foundation for everything that follows, ensuring we’re all on the same page from the start.
FEASIBILITY STUDY

Where do you start?
This is a question I’m often asked — and it’s exactly why I offer a desktop feasibility study. There’s a lot of information out there, and it can feel overwhelming. The feasibility study brings everything together clearly, helping you understand your project’s potential.
SURVEY & DRAWINGS

How do we ensure a thorough understanding of your property before starting?
I’ll carry out a measured survey to create a detailed 3D model of your existing property — the foundation for the entire design process. From this model, I produce accurate plans and elevations, including floor plans, external elevations, sections, a site plan, and a roof plan. These form the starting point for all subsequent design stages — from concept design and planning applications to building regulations, construction drawings, and interior architectural packages.
THE BRIEF

What’s most important to you in your home?
The process begins with you — it’s your project, your home. Before proceeding with detailed design, I ensure I fully understand your needs, priorities, and lifestyle. Your input guides every decision we make together. The clearer your brief, the smoother and more efficient the design process will be.
CONCEPT DESIGN

How can we create a design that truly suits your needs?
I explore the possibilities for your project — whether it’s a refurbishment, new build, remodelling, or extension. Good design goes beyond aesthetics; it’s about how a space functions and is constructed. I collaborate closely with you to develop concept designs that maximise your space or create new areas tailored to your lifestyle and goals.
Once complete, I present a set of concept drawings for us to review and discuss together.
PLANNING APPLICATION

Who manages all the planning requirements for your project?
I handle the entire planning process and submit all necessary applications on your behalf — including those for listed buildings and other sensitive sites. The aim is to provide the local council with a clear understanding of your project’s benefits to the community, environment, and local area. This usually includes site plans, elevations, sections, site drainage plans, access drawings, market research, ecology reports, and landscaping plans.
INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

What is interior architecture?
Interior architecture involves designing and specifying the permanent elements within your space — essentially, where interior design meets structural design. This includes developing detailed plans for both function and style, covering:
-
Space planning
-
Wall, floor, and ceiling treatments
-
Fitted joinery and built-in furniture
-
Kitchen design
-
Doors, screens, and sliding panels
-
Floor finishes
BUILDING REGULATIONS

Looking to take your project from concept to construction?
I use my unique, hands-on knowledge and experience to transform your concept drawings into a full set of technical drawings — ready for submission to Building Regulations.
I provide a comprehensive service, ensuring every aspect is designed and constructed in compliance with current legislation — from structure and insulation to safety, drainage, and electrical works.
Obtaining Building Regulations approval is a statutory requirement set by the government, and I’m here to guide you through the process.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Wondering what else needs to be addressed to keep your project on track?
This stage involves coordinating all the additional technical aspects of your project — from appointing a structural engineer and organising trial holes, to arranging CCTV surveys of drains and appointing a party wall surveyor if required.
TENDER DOCUMENTS

How can you ensure you get accurate quotes that truly reflect your project’s needs?
To help you achieve this, I produce detailed tender information for your contractors. This enables them to price their work accurately and avoid unexpected costs.
It’s also a chance for you to set clear expectations — whether about the construction process, realistic timeframes, phasing, or whether you’ll be living in the property during works — all of which can significantly affect pricing and delivery.
